Light In The Dark, Paloma Madrid and Vicky Leaks

Space: will be revealed soon
Dates: 24 April, 2026
Schedule: 18-20h

Light in the Dark is a site-specific immersive installation and artistic laboratory that merges dance, technology, and ecology. The project expands the choreographic research Vuestros cuerpos, vuestro territorio (2018), continuing its exploration as a sensory work in which nature, technology, and the human body act as co-creators.

We work with biofeedback technologies such as PlantWave, which translate the electrical signals of plants into sound. This plant-generated music becomes a real-time score for improvised dance in direct dialogue with the site. Through somatic practices and oxytocin-based methodologies, we explore how presence, touch, and breath can weave bodies together in connection with nature.

The project emerged from the encounter between choreographer Paloma Madrid and sound artist Victoria Trillo (VickyLeaks) during a residency at KIBLA Portal (Slovenia). Together, they seek to deepen a shared artistic language in which plants, sound, body, and place form a cohesive ecosystem.

Project co-funded by the European Union through DIGITAL on STAGE.

Paloma Madrid (Stockholm/Valparaíso) is a transdisciplinary choreographer working at the intersection of dance, digital media, visual art, and social practice. Her work explores the politics of the body and the aesthetics of resistance through long-term projects that weave together community-based processes, healing methodologies, and experimental movement practices. Through international collaborations and partnerships with institutions such as the Swedish National Touring Theatre and the Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden, she creates works in which the body becomes a poetic interface for transformation, relation, and collective experience.

Vicky Leaks (Victoria Trillo, Valencia) is a singer, composer, and creator of sound environments whose artistic path has evolved from blues, jazz, funk, and soul toward improvisation-based composition for the performing arts and audiovisual media. Under her alter ego Vicky Leaks, she explores new modes of composition and musical writing by deconstructing structures and working with drone to reach pure emotion and the essential core of sonic expression. Her recent work includes sound and music for dance and theatre productions such as Gymkhana, Cos·ser i cantar, L’Odissea de les nostres vides, Ferrrament(r)es, Escaires, Aus migratòries, and Illa Devon.
