“NEUROPRISON” is not a performance to be watched; it is a system you inhabit—and that inhabits you. Conceived by Robert B. Lisek, this radical digital performing arts project constructs a live phygital panopticon in which Artificial Intelligence becomes jailer, interrogator, and mirror, reflecting our complicity within systems of algorithmic control. The concept merges Lisek’s extensive experience in critical AI art, stochastic composition, information theory, and quantum metaphors into a visceral and participatory experience.
The performance space transforms into a hybrid data prison / quantum computing field. The audience enters equipped with lightweight, non-invasive biometric sensors (EEG headbands, galvanic skin response monitors, eye-tracking glasses) that transmit real-time physiological and behavioral data—focus, stress, gaze patterns, micro-expressions—to a custom-designed multi-agent AI system. Trained on datasets reflecting systemic bias, predictive surveillance, and social scoring mechanisms, the AI does not merely react; it proactively shapes the environment and narrative.
Project co-funded by the European Union through DIGITAL on STAGE.
Robert B. Lisek. Polish artist, mathematician, and composer, and a pioneer in the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in art. His practice explores the intersections of computational, biological, and social systems through code, algorithms, and stochastic processes. Addressing issues such as privacy, autonomy, and algorithmic culture, his work has been presented at leading international institutions and platforms including ZKM Karlsruhe, IRCAM–Centre Pompidou, Ars Electronica, the Venice Biennale, SIGGRAPH, and MAXXI Rome, combining a strong artistic trajectory with scientific and musical research in contemporary creation.
