Terms of Use, MMMAD 2026
Under the theme “Terms of Use,” the 2026 edition of MMMAD brings together a series of artistic practices that explore how bodies, technologies, and contemporary ecologies mutually configure one another within the complex systems we already inhabit. The title refers not only to the regulatory, technical, and symbolic frameworks that shape our relationship with technology, but also to the material, historical, and environmental conditions that determine how we live, move, and participate in space.
Rather than presenting the body as an autonomous or expressive subject, the works position it as an interface, infrastructure, or operational node, traversed by historical, economic, algorithmic, and ecological dynamics that condition its presence and agency. In this context, the body does not assert itself as the center; instead, it is exposed, measured, and reconfigured within systems that precede and exceed it.
Technology does not appear here as a tool for representation or as a spectacular device, but as a structural environment that organizes perception, time, and experience. Artificial intelligence, algorithmic control systems, mechanical devices, digital environments, and biofeedback technologies operate as active conditions of the sensible, placing audiences within systems that function continuously and often opaquely.
The works in this edition do not propose a future based on rupture or progress; rather, they engage with the persistence of what remains unresolved. Colonial legacies, surveillance logics, material remnants, altered ecologies, and post-human scenarios emerge as overlapping layers that continue to operate in the present.
The festival embraces immersive experiences that eliminate the distance between artwork and audience. The pieces are not observed from the outside; they are traversed, inhabited, and negotiated bodily, creating a shared, critical, and situated field of experience.
